TITLE (Series)
Puff Dispersion Modeling with CALPUFF and SCICHEM
DESCRIPTION: (Series)
One classification of air dispersion models (ADM) is models which simulate dispersion through the release of cylindrical ‘puffs’. These puff models use full three-dimensional gridded fields to provide excellent performance in both near- and far-field applications. This webinar will provide an overview of two such modeling systems - CALPUFF and SCICHEM - including recent model developments.
At the end of the webinar attendees will have a thorough understanding of puff models including their capabilities, limitations, and regulatory applications. Attendees will also see the models used live to grasp their real-world applicability in a variety of complex modeling scenarios."
Puff Dispersion Modeling: Introduction & CALPUFF Overview
One classification of air dispersion models (ADM) is models which simulate dispersion through the release of cylindrical ‘puffs’. These puff models use full three-dimensional gridded fields to provide excellent performance in both near- and far-field applications.
Part 1 of this webinar series introduces puff air dispersion models and their input requirements. Attendees will get an in-depth look at the CALPUFF modeling system and learn how to setup, run, and post-process model data.
Puff Dispersion Modeling: Advanced Theory & SCICHEM
The second part of this webinar series provides an in-depth review of puff model theory including turbulence, plume rise, and dispersion. The SCICHEM model will be introduced to demonstrate chemical transport and transformations. At the end of the webinar, attendees will have a thorough understanding of puff models including their capabilities, limitations, and regulatory applications.
