Making Sense of Oil & Gas Regulations

There have been many regulatory actions lately focusing on reducing methane and VOC emissions from new and existing sources in the oil and natural gas industry.  In November of 2021, revisions to federal New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) were proposed under NSPS OOOOb and Emission Guidance OOOOc and are expected to be finalized this year. In August 2023, US EPA also proposed revisions to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) with significant changes to Subpart W and impacts on IRA Methane Tax. While awaiting changes to the federal standards, states are moving forward with their own regulations to further regulate methane and VOC emissions from the oil and gas industry. This webinar will review existing GHGRP and OOOOa requirements, the impacts of the proposed revisions, and note new and upcoming regulations from state regulatory authorities.
