Sensor Deployment and Platforms for Smart Cities as part of the Bloomberg Mayors Challenge

This Webinar will discuss low cost sensor network deployment requirements as they pertain to accuracy and comparison to Federal Reference Methods (FRMs).  Platform needs and capabilities will be discussed as well as the need for installation, service, calibration checks, and value-added platform capabilities and needs.   A case study of the Bloomberg initiative winner project for the City of Denver will also be presented.   The City of Denver is deploying particulate sensors throughout the city to correlate asthma rates in children in school with particulate loading rates around those facilities.   Trips to the nurse and parental lost work hours to pick up children and/or trips to the emergency room, will be monetized against correlations to high particulate loading exposure around school facilities.  General lessons learned and next steps will be discussed.
