Cancelled: Nanomaterials 102: Measurement and Analysis
Nano objects exist and as such may present exposure risk in the form of individual nanoparticles, their agglomerates, nanoparticle-containing composite particles, and nanostructured particles and materials. These different forms of nanoobjects present a challenge for the analysis and measurement as new techniques and approaches are being developed for use both in the nanotechnology development and manufacturing industries as well as environmental and health risk assessment research.

The webinar will be on the latest developments of ultrafine and nanoparticle measurement techniques and analysis. An overview of currently available instruments capable of detecting nanoaerosols will be presented.  Recently introduced portable instrumentation will be discussed. The portable instruments’ evolving use for potential assessment of nanoparticle release within the Quality Control and production environments. The presentation will include 1) examples of both portable and lab-based instruments, which are currently used to identify airborne nanoparticles, 2) a description of the measurement techniques, and 3) examples of how researchers are applying the instruments to identify nanomaterials in the environment.
