The Federal Coal Ash Program: Where We Are and The Path Forward

The webinar will provide an overview of EPA’s current federal coal combustion residuals (“CCR”) program and discuss future changes to the program that we expect over the next two to three years.  Given recent court rulings and legislation, EPA has recently promulgated two significant revisions to the CCR regulations, the so-called Part A and Part B rules, and, in addition, has proposed to implement a federal CCR permit program.  The webinar will review the key issues in the Part A and B rules, and discuss what we expect to see in a final federal CCR permit program as well as the status of state CCR permit programs.  The webinar also will discuss EPA’s anticipated regulation of “legacy CCR impoundments” and the potential impact of the regulation of legacy impoundments on the power industry.
